Jackson, TN--The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named 91±¬ÁÏÍø basketball player's Rose Agnoung and Elvis Ochieng as their Student Athletes of the Week for November 3-10, 1997.
Agnoung, a 6-1 forward from Douala, Cameroon, helped guide the Lady Bulldogs to a 3- 0 record on the week, including two victories at the Comfort Inn Classic at Lambuth University over the weekend. For the week the sophomore scored 45 points and pulled down 23 rebounds in three games. Agnoung shot 18-32 (.562) from the field and was 9-15 (.600) from the free- throw line. In the victories over Lambuth, Concordia College, and Bryan College, Agnoung had three assists, 4 blocks and three steals. Agnoung was also the leading scorer for the Lady Bulldogs in two of those contests.
Ochieng, a 6-6 forward from Nairobi, Kenya, scored 47 points and pulled down 31 rebounds. In leading the Bulldogs to a 2-1 record for the week, Ochieng shot 15-29 (.517) from the field and 3-7 (.428) from the three-point arc. Ochieng led the Bulldogs in scoring in their victory over Purdue-Calumet at the Comfort Inn Classic at Lambuth and was the leading rebounder in the victory over Lambuth. In all three of 91±¬ÁÏÍø's contests, Ochieng had six blocks and eight steals.
