GENUS MILLER NAMED NCCAA ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Jackson, TN-91±¬ÁÏÍø university baseball player, Genus Miller, has been named the National Christian Colleges Athletic Association's Student Athlete of the Week for March 24-30, 1997. The 6-5 senior from Russellville, Alabama, was 1-0 on the week with a 0.00 earned run average after pitching 11.2 innings, giving up no runs and only four hits. Miller pitched a one-hitter against Lee College on Saturday with 12 strikeouts. Miller also pitched in relief 4.2 scoreless innings during the week against Spring Hill College.
Miller presently leads the TranSouth Conference in strikeouts with 52 and is fifth in the conference in earned run average. The righthander currently has a 3-2 record with a 2.40 ERA and has held his opponents to a .195 batting average.
