UNION'S MICHAEL HOPPER NAMED PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Jackson, TN--For the second time this season, Bulldog lefthander Michael Hopper has been named TranSouth Pitcher of the Week. The junior from Walnut, Mississippi, picked up a win over No. 11 Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday. In 11 innings pitched, Hopper gave up only one earned run for a 0.81 earned run average on the week. Hopper currently leads the 91±¬ÁÏÍø pitching staff and the TranSouth Conference in earned run average with a 1.67. Hopper is tied for first in the conference in wins with eight and ranks sixth in strikeouts with 56 on the season.
