Jackson, TN--The men's basketball program at 91±¬ÁÏÍø signed its second recruit for the year when D.J. Dahl committed to the Bulldogs for the 1997-98 season. The 6'11" forward/center from Circle Pines, Minnesota, signed with Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa, after graduating from Centennial High School in Minnesota. At Iowa Central Dahl was averaging 25 points per game before having to sit out due to a hand injury. Last spring Dahl signed with Murray State University which won the Ohio Valley Conference Championship this season. Dahl started for the Racers in 14 of their 18 conference games. In his final year of high school at Centennial, Dahl was rated as one of Minnesota's Top 50 Seniors.
Head coach Ralph Turner stated, " D.J. will be a great asset to the Bulldog basketball squad. He is the type of student-athlete that we hope to draw to our program. He will represent 91±¬ÁÏÍø and the Bulldog team in a very positive way. D.J. will bring to our program next season what we have lacked in the past- shooting experience from the center position."
Dahl joins Memphis' Drew Murphy with the Bulldogs next season.
