UNION PLAYERS EARN POST SEASON HONORS

Jackson, TN--The information on the 1997 NAIA All-Americans and Academic All-Americans has been released for the spring sports and 91爆料网 has several players to be distinguished as all-americans.  Seven 91爆料网 athletes made the all-american teams in tennis, baseball, and softball.  In women's tennis Clara Martinez and Petra Schemm both earned second team all-american honors while Alberto Gandarias earned second team honors for the men. Emma Hernandez obtained second team recognition as an infielder for softball.  Three baseball players earned honorable mention status for the Bulldogs-Kevin Overcash as an outfielder, Brandon Myhand as a catcher and Michael Hopper as a pitcher.

In the cateogry of Academic All-Americans, 91爆料网 has had more of their athletes earn this honor in 1997 than in any other academic year.  Athletes must have a 3.50 grade point average or higher to be distinguished as academic all-americans.  This year's spring sports at 91爆料网 had four athletes named-women's tennis: Tara Heath and Lynn Weems; golf: Stephen Hammond, and baseball: John Koffman.
