UNION'S MICHAEL HOPPER NAMED ALL-AMERICAN
Jackson, TN--91±¬ÁÏÍø pitcher Michael Hopper has been named to the 1997 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American team. The lefthander from Walnut, Mississippi, led the Bulldog pitching staff this season. On the year Hopper finished with a 10-5 record and a 2.02 earned run average. Hopper led the TranSouth Conference this season with the lowest ERA and in wins with nine.
Other honors bestowed on Hopper this season include TranSouth Player of the Year, All-TranSouth Conference, All-Mid-South Region, TranSouth Pitcher of the Week, and NCCAA Student Athlete of the Week.
