Derek Davenport

6-4, SR, Dyersburg, TN Guard, Mickey Mahon, High School Coach

Will be a leader on this year's team on an d off the court...great jump shot from 15-foot in...continues to improve his three-point range...prepped at Dyersburg High School where he averaged 17 points per game...winner of the Mitch Cupples award for athletics and academics.

Eric Barnes

6-1, SR, Marble Hill, MO, Guard, Daren Barnes, High School Coach

Has vastly improved as a leader and a point guard...very selfless and tough, two things that will make the Bulldogs better in 1996-97...led the team in assists last season, averaging 4.8 per game...entering his third season as a Bulldog after transferring from Hannibal LaGrange College...prepped at Woodland High School where he averaged 21 points per game and was an All-State Performer.

Kirk Goehring

6-6, SR, Jackson, TN Forward, Terry Hill, High School Coach

Will again be the focus of the Bulldog offense...was named to the NAIA All-American team in 1995-96 after averaging 22.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game...led the Bulldogs in scoring throughout the season...ranked in the top three scorers in the TCAC during the 1996 cconference season...will also be counted on as a leader...was selected to the All- Tournament team at the Lee Classic last season...prepped at Jackson North Side High School where he averaged 27 points per game...was All-District, All-Region, All-State, and Honorable Mention All-American.

Jeff Lee

6-5, JR, Dyersburg, TN, Forward, Mickey Mahon, High School Coach

Has averaged in double figures his first two seasons with the Bulldogs...was a big spark off the bench in 1995-96...has become stronger and tougher heading into this season...prepped at Dyersburg High School where he averaged 22 points per game...was All-District and Honorable Mention All-State.

Brandon Wood

5-9, JR, Franklin, TN, Guard, Gary Smith, High School Coach

Returns for his second season as a Bulldog...one of the best three-point shooters on the team...will continuously improve...ranked third on the 95-96 team in assits...transferred from Chattanooga State...prepped at Battle Ground Academy where he was District Most Valuable Player, Region Most Valuable Player, and State Tournament Most Valuable Player...helped lead his undefeated Battle Ground team to the state championship title.

Matt Hoover

6-7, SO, Adamsville, TN, Forward, Greg Martin, High School Coach

Had a great freshman season averaging 14.3 points per game and led the team with 7.1 rebounds per game...had the highest three-point percentage on the 95-96 team...has gotten stronger over the summer and will play a big role in the 1996-97 season...one of the best freshmen in the conference last season...named to the Lee Classic All Tournament Team last season...prepped at Adamsville High School where he was first team All-State and led his team to the state finals...named West Tennessee's Player of the Year in 1994-95...averaged 21 points per game and maintained a 3.4 grade point average at Adamsville.

Dexter Williams

5-10, SO, Trezevant, TN , Guard, Roy Grant, High School Coach

A great shooter who has gained a lot of strength and confidence during the off season...is expected to be one of the best defenders on the team this year...proved last season he loves to have the ball in his hands at the end of a game...prepped at West Carroll High School where he averaged 20 points per game while maintaining a 3.75 grade point average...led West Carroll to their first state tournament appearance.

Steve Poindexter

6-3, FR, Newbern, TN, Guard, Butch Hopkins, High School Coach

Coming off his red-shirt season in 1995-96...mentally very tough and loves to compete...he continues to improve his ball handling and quickness...prepped at Dyer County High School where he was District Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-State...averaged 18 points per game and carried a 3.40 grade point average.

Elvis Ochieng

6-6, SO, Nairobi, Kenya, Forward/Center

After a year of adjusting to basketball here at 91±¬ÁÏÍø he is ready...as a freshman he was the best post defender in the conference...gained 20 pounds of muscle and is stronger after his knee surgery than before...his offensive skill will develop vastly...will be a big part of the Bulldog future.

Casey Meek

6-3, FR, Adamsville, TN, Guard, Greg Martin, High School Coach

A walkon who is coming off a freshman red-shirt season...makes every body better everyday because he likes to compete...learning to handle the ball and is becoming a three-point threat...prepped at Adamsville High School where he helped guide the team to the state tournament.

Gaylon Moore

6-7 ,FR, Kenton, TN, Forward, Perry Bailey, High School Coach

A great rebounder who makes things look easy on the court...has a lot of potential...very strong and athletic...will play a big role on the 1996-97 squad as a freshman...he is just learning how to work with his skills...prepped at Gibson County High School where he averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds per game...was All-District twice, All-Region, All-West Tennessee, and Honorable Mention All-State.

Anthony Brooks

6-10, FR, Adamsville, TN, Center, Greg Martin, High School Coach

Will red-shirt this season to gain strength...has great touch out to 20 feet....great shooter who will be as good as he wants...has only played organized basketball for one year...prepped at Adamsville High School where he averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds per game...holds the school record for blocks and carried a 3.75 grade point average.

Jon Hoover

6-1, FR, Adamsville, TN, Guard, Greg Martin, High School Coach

Will be one of the best shooters on the team and that will not satisfy "Bubba"...constantly working to improve and will get better...needs to improve his ball handling and his foot quickness defensively...knows how to play...prepped at Adamsville High School where he averaged 22 points per game and broke the school scoring record with 45 points against Milan High School...Honorable Mention All-State, All West Tennessee, and All-State Tournament Team.

Patrick Whyte

6-9, FR, Lagos, Nigeria, Center

Will play a big role on this year's squad...great shot blocker because of his long arms...has to become more offensive minded...quick learner and always expects his best...played on the Edo Beads, a Division I team that now plays in the premier league in Nigeria.

Ryan Massey

6-4, FR, Jackson, TN, Guard, Rick Rudesill, High School Coach

A walkon who will be learning a new position at the college level...will learn to play on the perimeter after playing post in highs school...prepped at University School of Jackson where he was All-District twice, All-Region, and All-State Honorable Mention.
