Bulldog Season Summaries

1995 14-6

Finished third in the TCAC...was led by All-Conference performers Eric Gottschalk (singles), Christen Arens (singles and doubles) and Wayne Young (doubles)...Kevin Foxworth was selected TCAC Scholar Athlete...Foxworth was also the first Bulldog to receive a national ranking (#49 in the pre-season poll)...Foxworth and Gottschalk won the Southeast Rolex Doubles Championship and recieved a bid to the Rolex National Championships during the fall. Coach Brice Bishop was voted TCAC Coach of the Year.

1994 14-5

Won the TCAC Cahmpionship for the first time in school history with a 10-2 mark...finished third in the District 24 Tournament, the Bulldog's highest finish ever...led by All-District performers Derek Drake (singles), Mark James (doubles), Wayne Young (singles), and Nathan Willingham (doubles)...Drake (singles and doubles), James (singles), and Young (doubles) were All-TCAC...Drake won the District at the #4 singles position.

1993 11-11

Finished fifth in the District 24 Tournament, only one point out of third place...finished fourth in the TCAC with an even 6-6 record...was led by All-District performers Derek Drake, Sam Warner, and Boris Zakic...Drake was runner up at the #3 sinlges position while Warner and Zakic finished second at the #3 doubles position.

1992 11-14

Finished fifith in the District 24 Tournament after posting an 8-6 record...was led by sophomore John Mole's 18-5 overall record at the top position...Mole became the first Bulldog to earn All-District honors at the #1 position...Mole lost in finals to Trevecca's Carlos Bianchi, ranked #2 nationally...Gary Johnson was honored as a TCAC Scholar Athlete...the Bulldogs played the toughest schedule ever with seven opponents being nationally ranked.

1990 6-13

Despite a lineup that included three walk-on players and no seniors, 91卯創利's netters posted a 5-6 league mark and placed 7th out of 15 at the District 24 Tournament...junior Bart Whitnell posted the team's top singles record and teamed with junior Gary Bailey to compile the top doubles mark as well...Bailey recieved the honor of being named an NAIA Scholar Athlete.

1988 11-11

Finished with a 6-8 record in the TCAC (5th place)...finished 8th in the NAIA District 24 Tournament...Bo Bankston reached the semifinals in singles...Bart Whitnell had the team's best singles record at 13-10...Whitnell and Robert Johnson had the top doubles mark at 15-9 and defeated the nation's number four team in dual match play...four freshman were in the starting lineup.

1987 8-17

Despite fielding a team with 3 players without previous tennis experience, 91卯創利 finished in the upper division of the NAIA District 24 Tournament and placed two players on the All-District team...Gunnar Adalberth and Robert Johnson reached the finals at #1 doubles and Adalberth and Marty Steinmetz were singles semifinalists...Adalberth was named to the NAIA Academic All-American team for the 2nd straight year, defeated four nationally ranked players and became the first #1 singles player to win 20 matches at that position in a season for 91卯創利.

1986 13-13

Won 8 of the last 11 matches and then palced fifth in the District 24 Tournament...Dusty Doddridge became only the second 91卯創利 player to achieve 20 victories in singles and doubles in the same season...Doddridge and Greg McCloud reached the tournament semifinals in singles...Gunnar Adalberth defeated the nation's #5 ranked player in dual match play.
