1997 Season Summary
In only their third season of competition, the Lady Bulldogs completed their best season ever with their first appearance in the Mid-South Regional Tournament and compiling a 39-13 overall record. The Lady Bulldogs finished runner-up in the regional tournament, missing a berth to the 1997 NAIA National Championships by only one game.
During the season the Lady Bulldogs earned their first national ranking, peaking at No. 26 in the NAIA national polls. This program can boast of being one of the final 20 teams in competition at the end of the year. 91±¬ÁÏÍø had five players earn all-conference honors, two individuals made the all-region team, and two athletes were named all-americans.
NAIA Softball Fact--239 schools participated in Fastpitch Softball nationwide in 1997.
