Junior-Infielder-Memphis, Tennessee-Bolton High School

A returning starter at second base...will be counted on to provide outstanding defense...known to be a excellent bunter...named to the 1995 All-TCAC team...prepped at Bolton High School where she was named All-Metro and Best Defensive Player for three consecutive years.

Teresa Capshaw

Sophomore-Infielder/Outfielder-Middleton, Tennessee-Middleton High School

A hard worker who is improving with every practice...will be looked upon to come off the bench and pinch hit...prepped at Middleton High School where she earned numerous honors including Most Valuable Player, All-District, and graduated with honors.

Eileen Johnston

Sophomore-Outfielder-Paducah, Kentucky-Lone Oak High School

Sophomore transfer from Paducah who will be counted on to play the outfield...swings a good bat...prepped at Lone Oak High School in Kentucky where she was voted Most Athletic and earned All-State honors.

Wendy Graves

Freshman-Infielder-McKenzie, Tennessee-McKenzie High School

Freshman third baseman from McKenzie who will come in and contribute right away...has a good glove, above average speed and swings a good bat...prepped at McKenzie High School where she was named All-District in softball and basketball.

Tina Spivey

Junior-Infielder/Pitcher-Southaven, Mississippi-Southaven High School

Returning starting pitcher and infielder...will help give great consistency to our pitching staff while also playing solid defense and swinging a good bat...transferred last season from Delta State where she earned MVP honors in 1995 as well as All-Conference honors...in 1996 had an 8-2 record and a 2.40 ERA for the Lady Bulldogs...prepped at Southaven High School in Mississippi.

Sophomore-Infielder-Corinth, Mississippi-Central Baptist High School

Returning part-time player who will see action primarily at firstbase and as a pinch hitter...has some power potential at the plate...led the 1996 Lady Bulldog squad in hitting...had seven RBI's in one game last season...prepped at Central Baptist High School in Mississippi where she was named Most Valuable Player in volleyball and basketball.

Jennifer Collier

Freshman-Pitcher/Infielder-Paducah, Kentucky-Heath High School

Solid freshman pitcher/first baseman from Paducah who will help solidify a strong pitching staff...prepped at Heath High School in Kentucky where she was named Most Valuable Player in 1995 and 1996.

Nina Willison

Freshman-Catcher/Outfielder-Arvada, Colorado-Faith Christian Academy

Freshman outfielder from Colorado who is an extremely hard worker...has good speed and improves with every practice.

Chanda Franks

Sophomore-Catcher-Savannah, Tennessee-Hardin County High School

Returning starter who will move to the catching spot...swings a solid bat with power potential...good defensive catcher who will help the pitching staff with her steady glove...was second on the 1996 team in RBI's...prepped at Hardin County where she earned awards in both softball and basketball including Most Valuable Player, West Tennessee Softball Player of the Week, and All-District.

Freshman utility player from Clarksville...swings a good bat and is always working to improve.

Emma Hernandez

Junior-Infielder-Mission Viejo, California-Saddleback High School

Returning All-Conference centerfielder who will play shortstop this season...has an above average arm, good speed, and swings a solid bat...third leading hitter in 1996...perfect fielding percentage in 1996...led the 1995 Lady Bulldogs in stolen bases..named All-TCAC in 1996...prepped at Saddleback High School in California where she earned numerous athletic honors including Athlete of the Year and Most Valuable Player in volleyball, softball, and soccer.

Lynde Capogreco

Junior-Pitcher/Outfielder-Herrin, Illinois-Herrin High School

Returning All-Conference pitcher/outfielder who will anchor a strong pitching staff...provides solid leadership and also swings a dangerous bat...in 1995 was named All-TCAC and All-Region as well as TCAC Player of the Year...had a 19-13 record with a 2.30 ERA and 260 strikeouts...named All-TCAC in 1996 with an 8-4 record and 2.04 ERA...prepped at Herrin High School where she earned several academic and athletic honors such as All-Conference, Most Valuable Female Athlete, and Most Valuable Player.
