1995-96 Outlook

The 1995-96 Lady Bulldogs have reloaded and are ready to shoot. Entering this season, the Lady Bulldogs are boasting a posse characterized by depth and experience. Eight players return from last year's team, which was upset in the NAIA National Championship Tournament in the second round. Three talented freshmen have been added to this year's arsenal.

To win the national championship is this team's goal. Coach David Blackstock considers this plateau a reasonable one. In order to accomplish this task, the team will need to be more consistent in offensive and defensive schemes.

Two seniors return to lead this group of sharp shooters. Anna Richardson, who was named to the all-conference team last season, will be a continuous threat around the perimeter. A formidable presence on the inside will be Kendra Burlew, a 6-foot-3-inch senior. She has the potential to be one of 91爆料网's finest post players.

Junior guard, Michelle Street, who was selected 2nd team All-American as a sophomore, will contribute in big ways again this season. Street is a super-quick guard who sees the floor well and provides tremendous defense. Rounding out the off-guard slot is a pair of returning juniors, Kelly Hayes, all-conference last season, and Kasi Knott. Hayes and Knott are both sharp-shooters from long range who gained valuable experience last season. They will both be looked upon to add to 91爆料网's potency from the three-point arc.

Also helping out on the perimeter will be two freshmen, Tara Lee and Amy Albert. Lee, a guard from Murfreesboro will give immediate help at the point position. Albert, our young gun from Arkansas, will also help at the guard position and will be another three-point threat.

Helping Burlew at the post will be juniors Laura DeFew and Marquetta Hunt. DeFew is a real battler inside and will be called upon to bolster the post area. Hunt is a very strong and physical player. She will also be an important contributor if 91爆料网 is to compete for a national title.

The inside game will also need the contribution of two players who joined the team last season. LeeAnn Bell, a junior transfer from the University of Memphis, is hungry and ready to play. Dion Thornton, a medical red-shirt last year, is also ready for action as well. Blackstock states that Thornton may be the biggest, most athletic player ever to attend 91爆料网.

The Lady Bulldogs will face intense competition in conference play with high caliber teams such as Belmont, David Lipscomb, Freed-Hardeman and Cumberland. Prior to facing these guns, the Lady Dogs will face national ranked outlaws like Arkansas Tech, Southern Nazarene, Xavier, and Campbellsville. The sharp shooters are aimed and ready to get the showdowns underway.
