The Lady Bulldogs will once again be swimming in talent this 1997-98 season. Although 91爆料网 will be forced to find a way to replace the "Fabulous Five" and forward Dion Thornton, this young team will gladly take on that challenge. This youthful team will learn to rely on their quickness and endurance to frustrate opponents. At first glance one might say that the ladies lack experience, but most of last season and especially during post season play, the Lady Bulldogs were starting two or three freshmen. Thinking back to the pressure those ladies were under during their climb to the national championship, the experience is there!
With a team full of freshmen and sophomores, the leadership role will fall upon the shoulders of Tara Lee, the Lady Dogs only junior. The Lady Dogs will be returning sophomore Rose Agnoung, a 1997 NAIA All-Tournament selection. With the loss of All-American Michelle Street, sophomores Leslie Henderson and Meg Griffin will be expected to become more of a scoring threat on the court. After red-shirting her first season at 91爆料网, April Pearson will be assuming the role as floor general for the Lady Dogs. Forward Celestine Gholston will be asked to become more of an inside presence which will be no problem for Gholston if she can remain healthy. In the post area, freshmen Ginger Bryant and Carolyne Sagasi will be relied upon for valuable minutes. The outside game for 91爆料网 will come from sophomore Lori Love and freshman Alisha Lehmkuhl. These three-point threats will add a lot of excitement to the Lady Dogs game.
This may be the first season the Lady Dogs will not have a "go to" person to rely on for immediate scoring. Learning to play as a team and depending on each other will be 91爆料网's greatest task if they plan to return to the national tournament.
