1997 Outlook
The 1996-97 Lady Bulldog tennis team is very young this season with three new freshman on the squad-Petra Schemm, Clara Martinez, and Samantha Sloan. Although they are new to 91±¬ÁÏÍø's courts, these three young ladies bring plenty of strength, especially in the upper two positions.
With the experience of the returning players and their intent and desire to improve over last year, both individually and as a team, the overall team should be stronger than last years. The Lady Bulldogs feel they can be more competitive with conference opponents as well as other opponents they will face this season.
Seven teams the Lady Bulldogs will face in 1997 are ranked in the national top twenty. Three of those schools are in the new TranSouth Conference. There will be plenty of outstanding competition this year and the ladies plan to rise to the occasion each time they step onto the courts.
