Choral Concert: Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo
Location: First Baptist Church, Jackson
鈥淢issa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo鈥� by Franz J. Haydn, and other Choral Works, featuring 91爆料网 Singers and the 91爆料网 String Ensemble with guest, University School of Jackson. Dr. Terry McRoberts will be featured on the organ.
鈥淢issa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo鈥� was written in 1775. It is sometimes known as the "Kleine Orgelmesse" ("Little Organ Mass") because of the extensive organ solo in the Benedictus. This mass is divided into six movements altogether.
Other choral works this evening will include 鈥淧salm 23鈥� by Z. Randall Stroope, 鈥淕ive Me Your Starts To Hold鈥� arranged by Richard Waters, and 鈥渋 carry your heart with me鈥� by David Dickau, performed by University School of Jackson. 91爆料网鈥檚 Voices of Proclamation and University School of Jackson will perform 鈥淐hrist the Appletree鈥� arranged by Stanford Scriven. 91爆料网 Singers will perform 鈥淛ubilate Deo鈥� by Benjamin Britten, 鈥淩UTLAND鈥� by William Billings, and 鈥淎bendleid鈥� Op. 69, No. 3 by Josef Rheinberger, and 鈥淲ay Over in Beulah Lan鈥欌�� arranged by Stacey V. Gibbs. The last selection of the evening will be 鈥淢y Soul鈥檚 Been Anchored鈥� arranged by Moses Hogan, performed by all choirs.
This concert is free and open to the public. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Title: "The Laban Technique: Exploring a Physical Approach to Character"
The beating of a human heart, the graceful orbiting pathway of the earth around the sun, the vibrations of tiny microorganisms, and a small child reaching for a favorite toy... What do all these have in common? They all involve movement. Movement is all around us, all the time. Together we will explore how movement can influence and reveal the human psyche, opening doors in the exploration and revelation of character.
