Season Outlook

The 2011 91爆料网 women鈥檚 soccer will once again look to compete for a conference title. 91爆料网 posted an overall record of 9-7-2 last season, and a conference record of 2-3-1. 91爆料网 finished third in the league and has been as high as second in the six-year history of the program.

91爆料网 head coach Brandon Boylan says, "The coaching staff is excited for the new season. The incoming freshmen have brought a high level of play into our program. With the returning players dedicated to their fitness, and having a better understanding of the demands of the college game, we look to be an improved team from last year. Our success this season will hinge on how fast the freshmen adjust to the college game, and when the returning players and newcomers find their chemistry."

91爆料网 has a large group of returning players. Nineteen players return from last year from either varsity or reserve team roles. Twelve of the returning players started at some point on the varsity team. 91爆料网 lost five players from last season鈥檚 team that started at some point. However, head coach Brandon Boylan will take fifteen newcomers and fill voids as he works to build this team.

The senior class is made up of four players including Terilyn Wassell, Bridget Roney, Christina Reardon and Eboni Murphy. Reardon was selected to the second team all-conference last season. Murphy sat out last season, but returns for her senior season as a former all-conference player.

Eight juniors complete the list of upperclassmen. They include Sara Weir, Christina Brimm, Whitney Kramer, Steffi King, Sarah White, Natalie Stallings, Kelsey Gilbert and Elizabeth Cochran. Kramer, Weir and White were all named second team all-conference players last season.

The sophomore class is also made up of eight players. They include Emily Warren, Emily Crane, Meghan Roney, Nicole Sheffield, Ashley Zidan, Sarah Helton, Dionna Linn and Rachael Boswell. Only Helton is a newcomer on this list as the other seven are back for their second seasons.

The freshman class is the largest class with fourteen players. They include Rainy Rasmussen, Mallory Wilson, Kelsey Graeter, Alex Taylor, Rebecca McDonough, Ashlie Watson, Kay Morgan, Sara Johnson, Karli Schumaker, Bethany Stiles, Whitney Moskovitz, Eliza Clark, Brittney Presley and Megan Jay. These players will hope to impact the success of the program and be able to push this program to a higher level over the next four years.

Coach Boylan and his assistant, Isaac Brooks, look to take this group of players and move challenge for the league title. 91爆料网 faces the tough TranSouth Conference that boasts former NAIA National Champion and perennial power, Martin Methodist (Tenn.). 91爆料网鈥檚 non-conference schedule is also highlighted by a road match on August 30 at NCAA DI Austin Peay (Tenn.).

This will be the final season for 91爆料网 to compete in the TranSouth Conference and NAIA. The university has been approved to begin the NCAA Division II membership process.
